The Blog

The winter months are great for indulging in family fun adventures. With the unpredictability of Indiana weather, who knows how many snow days your kids will have! Below, I have compiled a list of activities for the whole family to enjoy this winter season. The best part – they’re all local so you don’t have to travel far to have fun!

Magical Vacation Planner

If the snow is making the family dream of warmer days… look no further! With the help of Micki Stillings at Magical Vacation Planner, she can plan an entire trip to the sun in no time. She has been a huge help in planning our upcoming trip to Orlando and I am certain I will never book a trip without her help again. From Universal and Disney guidance to hotel information, she has done it ALL. And even an added bonus- if you book with her, you will receive a $50 gift card! Follow her on Instagram and check her out on the Magical Vacation Planner website here!

Lafayette Aviators

With the kids getting older, I am all in for buying experiential gifts we can do together instead of a house filled with toys. We love going to  Lafayette Aviators games and watching the team as a family.  I’m always looking to enjoy valuable family time while having fun! Email alexandera@lafayettebaseball.com or call (765) 464-6810 to purchase tickets and tell them that All The Things Lafayette sent you!

Dull’s Tree Farm

Take your spouse and kids to experience holiday magic at the Dull’s Tree Farm! The tree farm is the perfect place to visit, whether you’re looking for a Christmas tree or just looking to feel festive. The hours of the tree farm are Monday-Friday 3-6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.- 6 p.m., and Sunday 1-6 p.m. Check them out on Instagram and their website for more information!

Fair Oaks Farm

Visit Fair Oaks Farm and their Forest of Lights for the holiday season! Open after 5 p.m., the trail is a mile long and filled with beautiful Christmas lights. Afterward, you can keep the holiday cheer going by having dinner in the heated igloos. How fun! The lights will be up until January 2, so there’s plenty of time to make a trip to experience the holiday joy at Fair Oaks Farm. Follow them on Instagram and check out their website for more information!

Christmas Tree at Purdue University

Who has the family tradition of going to visit the Purdue University Christmas tree? Located in the Purdue Memorial Union, this tree stands tall and shimmers with lights. It’s accompanied by bountiful gingerbread houses made by various students and tons of other decorations throughout the campus! Find more information about the tree on the Purdue Instagram and website

Happy holidays from my family to yours. I hope this helped you plan some fun adventures to do with your family during this winter season! Stay warm and enjoy spending quality time with your loved ones through the cold months.
